Sarah Crail | About

Welcome and thanks for stopping by! I am based on the west side of Indianapolis and primarily photograph weddings and events, senior pictures, and pets. I also do business headshots, real estate, and some commerical photography as well. My style is best knows as "Modern-Traditional Photography with a Mission." What that means is that I strive for good solid technical photography while also incorporating some creative techniques for variation. I use both natural light and flash which enables me to work in my studio or on location in a variety of environments, and am not afraid of using shadows to create shape and texture. For that reason, my wedding and portrait work is NOT light and airy like your bleached out, faded laundry. My work is full of rich color, contrast, drama, and creativity. The "mission" of my work is rooted in a core value that stems from both my family and my husband's. That is a value of generosity and believing that there is greater joy in giving than in receiving. To put that into practice, I make a donation to one of my partner charities with a portion of my earnings on every job. My clients choose which charity they wish to benefit, and I make a donation in their honor. It is my goal to increase my giving each year and to make a difference for missions and local charities.

While you're here, let me introduce you to our family and tell you a little more about me! I am a former teacher and bilingual (Spanish), having lived in Puerto Rico for ten years. Roger is my A+ husband. We enjoy serving in our local church and volunteering at the Midwest Food Bank. We also enjoy spending time outdoors with our dogs Roscoe and Tanner, attending occasional car shows, air shows, and museums, and participating in organized bike rides. Roger is an aircraft mechanic and can fix almost anything. I enjoy attending professional photography workshops and am affiliated with PPA (Professional Photographers of America) and earned my Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) designation in 2015. I am on the board of  the Indianapolis Professional Photographers Guild (IPPG), and in 2014 and 2016 I was awarded among IPPG's Top 10 Professional Photographers. I'm not a coffee drinker, but will gladly meet up with you for a chai latte or a Diet Coke and chat about how I can serve you with photography! Best Wishes!
